Manila grants P1,000 cash aid each for 568,000 families
By Susan G. De Leon Published on April 6, 2020
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced that the Manila City government will start granting PHP1,000 cash assistance each to more than 500,000 families on April 7 amid the COVID-19 crisis.
With an allocation of supplemental budget amounting to PHP591 million, Domagoso made the announcement after signing Ordinance No. 8625, also known as the City Amelioration Crisis Assistance Fund.
The Mayor said that the residents need not approach their barangay chiefs, as the distribution would be done on a house-to-house procedure, aiming to finish catering to all 568,000 families before Easter.
